Ben - Md. - Plymouth Satelite Wagon - Profile
Ben Brown has only been footbraking for a little over one season and finished 31 in the points at Capitol Raceway. He saw the Bottom (red) Bulb for the first half of the season! As it turns out, eye dominance played an important part in his reaction times. After moving to the right lane his reaction times got back into the 5's and away from all the red lights. Ben races a 1973 Plymouth Satelite 2-door wagon. The engine is a mild 440 and it runs low to mid 13's. Ben is looking forward to a new season at Capitol and he will be racing in Class II. If you think this was an original two door car, it wasn't. 21 inches was cut out of the middle of the car, shortening the wheelbase to 99 inches. It was already a big block car so replacing the 400 with a 440 was easy. It's a swapmeet special with most of the parts being used or left over from other projects. The 60 foot times for this 3900 (w/driver) pound car range from 1.75 - 1.80 so you see low 13's are a pretty good E.T. for this car.
