" Daughter Molly "

My name is Francis Reynolds and I have been racing since 1969. My first ride was a 1956 Ford that belonged to my dad ("pop"). In 1971 I bought my 1970 Maverick and immediately put it on the track. It originally had a 250 six cylinder. In 1977 I put a 302 in the car and that's the year I was the N.H.R.A. Division 1 Heavy Champion and was voted the U.B.R.A. Driver of the Year in the Northeast Division. I also won two of the "TEAM RACES" at M.I.R., of which Mrs De Jesus was part. After a brief stint in S/Pro in 1992, I installed the 429 engine out of the Mercury Marquis which I used to tow with into the Maverick and it's been in the car ever since. It had 228,000 miles on it when it was transplanted into the Maverick and it is still going strong!!! My greatest aspiration now is that when I grow up, I hope to someday become a "TRACK CHAMPION"!!! Hopefully I can look to the De Jesus Family and Dale Wilson to teach me how to accomplish this feat!!! I also would like to thank my daughter, Molly, who is my eternal inspiration for racing and living. I think she loves racing more than I do!!!
