Rita - New Jersey - Profile
I have been involved with Bud and Somethin' Else since day one in 1988. At first, I was not that enthusiastic about the "race car". I was 19 and Bud was 20 and I feared this thing would consume all of our free time together. IT DID!  At first, I went to the track every weekend with Bud. I wanted him to be successful and have fun and I wanted to be a part of this. Needless to say that got old real quick because I thought we were missing out on so much fun stuff. When I realized that we weren't missing out on anything and there could be nothing better than racing together, I never looked back. Since 1989, I have been going to the track on a regular basis. I did take a much needed break in 1998, but I came back strong and supportive for Bud. We have met so many nice people, made so many friends and have gone places we wouldn't have had a chance to go to if it hadn't been for racing. I love racing, the smell of burning rubber, watching Bud getting ready to race, watching the car that he built beat the pants off the competition, the winners circle, the early mornings and late nights and the time spent together traveling to the races. I'm glad that I'm the wife that I am. I am glad to be by his side to support him. When he wins, when he loses (even for stupid reasons), when he needs to vent because he's mad at himself for the race he just lost, when he swings me around screaming at the top of his lungs after he has won another points series, but most of all I am glad to see him go down the racetrack and come back up the return road safely. this may seem like rambling, but I am trying to summarize 13 years of racing together. In my eyes, Bud is the best race car driver I know. He has won 4 championships (93, 94 ,95 & 96) won the race of champions in '95 and has managed to stay in the top ten since then. Plans for the future are to embark on a new racing journey into Stock Eliminator.    P.S. I forgot to tell you, I let him name our dog. Q-Jet  go figure!
