Thad Gardner at his hometrack of Marion Co. International Raceway (IHRA) in LaRue, Ohio. He has won there many times and has also won races at Edgewater, Milan, Norwalk, Dragway 42, National Trail and Lapeer. His car is a 1965 Dodge Coronet 500 with a mild, basically stock 440 engine, automatic and an 8 3/4 rear with 4.56 gear and sure grip. The Dodge runs mid 12's in the 1/4 mile and low 8's in the1/8 mile. The engine is a '71 standard bore,stock bottom end with a .509 purpleshaft cam, stock valve train, Edelbrock intake, 700 Holley and the orange box ignition. The transmission is a 727 with a homemade manual valve body and an 11' TCI Streetfighter converter. With over 900 passes on the engine and 1200 runs on the transmission it will still run the number.
